Recap: Mahindra Ugine gave a profit of Rs 1.3/-, Xpro was upper freeze, GMR Infra gave a profit of Rs 1.5/-, Escorts gave a profit of Rs 6/-, Dena bank gave a profit of rs 2.15/- and crompton greaves gave a profit of Rs 3/-.

Stock Market day Diary: The market closed with good gains in late trade. Sensex recovered nearly 400 points from the day's low. Sensex closed at 20465 up 164 points and Nifty at 6179 up 35 points from the previous close. The CNX Midcaps Index was up 1.2% and BSE Smallcaps Index was up 1.5% and BSE Bankex Index was up 3.2%.The market breadth was positive with advances at 725 against declines of 506 on the NSE. Top Nifty gainers included Unitech, PNB, HDFC, Tata Motors and REL while losers included GAIL, Cairn India, VSNL, Satyam and M&M.

Likely Stock Market trend: Asian Markets were down and thus the whipsaw. Nifty trend is sideways. Watch Sensex 20000 level and Nifty 6000 levels.
